Mun bhuidheann againn

Tha ‘Suas’ nar buidheann de luchd-ionnsachaidh na Gàidhlig (sa mhòr-chuid) ann an Siorrachd Àir a Tuath, le taic bho Sheirbheis Taic Coimhearsnachd Comhairle Shiorrachd Àir a Tuath, a’gabhail a-steach neach-obrach Ionnsachaidh na Gàidhlig ainmichte.

Is iad seo prìomh amasan Suas:

Tha sinn airson cànan is cultar na Gàidhlig adhartachadh; tha sinn airson àireamh luchd-labhairt na Gàidhlig san sgìre a bhrosnachadh agus a mheudachadh; agus tha sinn airson cothrom a thoirt dhaibh tighinn còmhla aig tachartasan sòisealta agus an eòlas a leasachadh.

An-dràsta, tha mu chòig buill deug aig a’ bhuidhinn a bhios a’coinneachadh aon uair sa mhìos. Tha sinn a’smaoineachadh gu bheil còrr is ceud neach-ionnsachaidh, agus àireamh neo-aithnichte de luchd-labhairt Gàidhlig eile, ann an Siorrachd Àir a Tuath, mar sin tha fàilte air barrachd bhuill!

About us

Suasis a group of (mostly) Gaelic learners in North Ayrshire, supported by North Ayrshire Council (NAC) Community Support service, including a designated Gaelic Learning worker.

The main goals of Suas are :

We want to promote Gaelic language and culture; we want to encourage and increase the number of Gaelic speakers in the area; and we want to provide them with an opportunity to come together at social events and to develop their knowledge

At present the group has about 15 members, who meet once a month. We reckon there are more than 100 Gaelic learners, and an unknown number of other Gaelic speakers in North Ayrshire, so more members are welcome!

Dè a tha sinn a’ dèanamh?

Bidh sinn a cuir air dòigh caochladh tachartasan sòisealta – òraidean, splaoidean agus tachartasan cànain, leithid Làithean Gàidhlig le luchd-teagaisg taghta. Bidh fàilte chridheil air duine sam bith aig na tachartasan seo. Faic an duilleag Tachartasan againn airson tachartasan a tha ri thighinn.

Tha eadar-obrachadh gu seachd àraidh againn leis a’chloinn a tha a’faighinn Foglam tro Mheadhan na Gàidhlig aig Bun-sgoil Pàirc Whitehirst.

Faodaidh sibh ar bun-reachd a leughadh air duilleag na Stòras-fiosraichaidh.

What do we do?

We organise a variety of social events – talks, workshops and language events, such as Gaelic Days with selected teachers. Everyone is welcome to attend these events. See our Events page for coming events.

We also have a particularly special interaction with the children at Whitehirst Park Gaelic Medium Education School.

You can read our constitution on the Resources page.
